We welcomed Muriel Glasgow at moringafact.com. Muriel Glasgow has graduated in Columbia University with MPH, Health Behavior / Health Education.
She has developed and implemented policies and programs in various countries over 2 – 4 period (Haiti, Togo, Madegascar…) and advised various countries on UNICEF policies and procedures as regards women and girls involvement in programs and the importance of building relationship with communities, donors, government, non-for-profits, other UN agencies at field and other levels.

She wrote as following; Many billions have become accustomed to eating rice which is increasingly in short supply. Farmers are not getting the financial returns they expect from planting rice and are faced with the choice of planting rice or planting corn, the latter being the new and sexy choice on the farm. Corn provides financial security, helps in ongoing the global warming/energy debate by making available the option of using ethanol rather than fostering more and more of a dependence on oil.
However, the consequences are devastating for the billions who eat and depend on rice as a staple – from the World Food Programme of the United Nations, to the family in the huts in Burkina Faso.
