Moringafact learned that the Manilla Bulletin Publishing Corporation has recently reported on ambitions of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources to rebuild lost forests in the Philipines. The new landscape of the country’s forests will not only reflect the beauties of the tropical and sub tropical worlds but also provide vital resources and nutrients to combat the malnutritionwithin the Philippines.
The trees selected for this nutrient rich forest include cacia mangium (mangium), Gmelina arborea (yemane), Paraserianthes falcataria (falcata, Moluccan sau), Tectona grandis (teak), Calamus (rattan) species, Falcata tree (Paraserianthes falcataria), Jathropa, and the Moringa tree. The director of the UPLB Forest Biotechnology Program,
Dr. Lapitan, claims this tropical recipe will ensure higher seedling survival rates rebuilding the landscape of the Philippines.
