A web-based news agency, Ghana Web, recently published a story on their website displaying the works of NGOs in Africa. The article focused primarily on “Trees for the Future Ghana” which is an organization that plants trees for the well-being of today, and a brighter tomorrow. This organization has so far planted over 600 seedlings including Moringa seedlings which are used as a food staple and for water purification. “Mr Lovans Owusu-Takyi, Programmes Coordinator of the NGO, said the organization was collaborating with Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture to plant over 500,000 tree seedlings nationwide to improve the eco-system and bio-diversity. Mr Owusu-Takyi spoke of the need for all the people to accept the responsibility for the protection of the environment to sustain life.”
