New Herbal Tea Brings Benefits to Farmers

PR.com recently released a story reporting on an International Food Exhibition in the Philippines. The release discussed a new tea produced by locally grown herbs. “A group of church volunteers aimed to help a group of farmers improve their livelihood by manufacturing tea from locally available herbs such as malunggay, lagundi (five-leaf chaste tree), tanglad (lemongrass), and ampalaya (bitter lemon).” These teas have helped farmers finance local crops and improve nutrition of the local peoples. “This church foundation has been helping hundreds of Maranao, Cebuano and Higaonon farmers in Digkilaan, Iligan City for more than a decade.”
